		<description>oopinionsss--

I'm working on a post about what's next that I hope to have up fairly soon. For now, let me just say that real estate is generally considered a "leading" indicator.

That certainly has been the case so far in this economic cycle. The Federal Reserve used real estate to bring the economy back from 9/11, and over the last two years it 's definitely been real estate leading us into this downturn.

Check back in a few days for more specifics.

In the meantime, you can also consult our classic "what's next" post from last year. It's been remarkably prophetic so far: "&lt;a href="http://socalrealestatenews.com/blog/how-low-will-prices-go/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"&gt;How low will prices go?&lt;/a&gt;"</description>
